EMS Administration Manager Quality Management

The Houston Fire Department (HFD) is actively seeking an experienced individual to fill the newly created position of EMS Administration Manager for the Quality Management Division. HFD and the Medical Director’s office operate the City’s sole 911 EMS and Fire response agency responding to more than 350,000 incidents per year. This full-time position would interact daily with Medical Direction staff and be responsible for the development and implementation of a CQI program. Regular interaction with local hospitals and pre-hospital personnel will “close the loop” for EMS providers, allowing for varied educational opportunities. By developing key metrics and identifying root causes related to dispatch and clinical care issues, the EMS Administration Manager will be expected to clearly present their findings to City officials in order to guide Department policies and procedures. We seek a self-motivated and creative person to join our team to enhance the delivery of pre-hospital care in the City of Houston!

Paramedic – PT – Emergency Medical Service

Working with a senior paramedic, provides emergency medical care to the citizens of Fort Bend County as stated in established standards, procedures and protocols. Under the direction and guidance of a senior paramedic, responds to requests for emergency medical service. Assesses patient’s needs and provides medical care as needed and transports patients to an appropriate medical facility, determined by policy and/or protocol. Prepares necessary reports as required. Maintains emergency vehicle inventory of medical supplies. Maintains condition of ambulance and station. May acts as lead medical provider when required. Assists other employees with their duties. Signs for and is held accountable for equipment used. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

EBR EMS is a municipal service and is the primary ALS pre-hospital provider for East Baton Rouge Parish. Our medics respond to solely to 911 calls, and provide coverage for special events such as parades, football games, concerts, and festivals. We are expanding operations and are looking for Paramedics to staff these roles!

East Baton Rouge EMS Paramedics practice under a progressive Standing Order Guideline that gives them the freedom to treat patients without the need for contacting Med-control. The guidelines are created and updated utilizing evidence based medicine. A copy of the guidelines can be found on the training page located on the East Baton Rouge EMS website.

Emergency Medical Services Manager

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Manager oversees the EMS Division by supervising Public Safety professional staff in their area of responsibility, managing expenditures to the approved annual budget, developing goals and objectives for the Division, planning, conducting research, and ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes and/or standards. The Emergency Medical Services Manager leads other various EMS functions, as assigned, and may function as the Public Safety Director in case of the Director’s absence.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Clinical Services will be responsible for overseeing the clinical department in the areas of planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing all clinical and quality assurance initiatives, including,

  • functioning as the primary clinical QA liaison with local, State and Regional EMS entities.
  • Develops and implements an educational program to support organizational objectives.
  • Implements and enhances the use and expansion of distributive learning systems, medical simulation, and other educational technologies to support corporate/employee educational learning objectives/initiatives.
  • Manages all clinical affiliation agreements.
