The city of San Antonio may soon have a new vehicle at its disposal when dealing with high-risk medical situations.
The fire department is again looking to purchase an armored medical vehicle. The department has been looking for one for the past five years, but budget issues pushed it to the side.
“I look at this as a vehicle that can come to the rescue of someone that is pinned down by an active shooter, their neighbor’s house is on fire, they can’t get out,” Fire Chief Charles Hood told the San Antonio Express-News.
The city is currently taking bids from companies for such a vehicle.
