AUBURN, Maine – A Maine paramedic captured on video a car refusing to pull over for an ambulance hopes it will raise awareness for other drivers to pay attention.
Paramedic Michael Blakemore tells newscentermaine.com the driver refused to pull over for nearly four miles. Blakemore says it’s becoming a serious problem.
The state requires drivers to pull over immediately when an emergency vehicle has its lights and sirens on. Failure to move over can result in a $250 fine.
Blakemore says he wrote down the license plate and called police.
