CLEVELAND – Recordings show Cleveland EMS asked a sick patient to walk to the emergency room after the patient thought he might have the new coronavirus, according to a report.
The call was made last month and it turned out the person did not have virus, know known as COVID-19, according to FOX 8.
“See if he can make it down to University (Hospitals)… Get there on his own instead of getting us involved just because we’re not ready for this yet,” according to the audio recording released to the station. “See if they can walk down to the emergency room.”
A Cleveland Heights rescue squad picked up the patient because he was actually just over the border, according to the report.
Cleveland EMS said it has since come up with new guidelines for calls that may involve patients infected with the new virus.
