CAPE CODE, Mass. — Six people were injured after a multi-vehicle crash with a Mashpee Fire Department ambulance on Monday, police said.
The ambulance was traveling with its lights and sirens on to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis when a vehicle pulled pulled out and struck the ambulance on the front left side, according to the Barnstable Police Department.
The conditions of those taken to the hospital were not released.
The ambulance struck three over vehicles before stopping. The ambulance and four other cars had to be towed from the area.
The operator of the vehicle that struck the ambulance was issued a citation for failure to use care in starting.
