Florida County Orders Changes after 80-minute Wait Times at Nature Coast EMS

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. — Citrus County, Florida is telling Nature Coast EMS to make changes after a man had to wait more than 80 minutes for help to arrive, according to report.

“This is the hammer, this is the anvil, you have no choice but to do this,” said County Commissioner Jimmie Smith at a meeting last month, as reported by FOX 13.

James Koerner and his wife Darlene Blanchard Koerner tells the station was going in-and-out of consciousness as he laid on the floor with internal bleeding.

The ambulance eventually arrived to take James to the hospital, according to the report.

Nature Coast EMS has 45 days to make corrective changes. Watch the report below.
