Report: Not Enough Ambulances in Part of Washington State

YAKIMA, Wash. – Several fire chiefs are accusing emergency medical service providers of prioritizing inter-facility transport calls over emergency calls.

The reason? More money can be made doing medical transports. KIMA-TV reports that can mean times when ambulances are not available.

Currently, there are now laws on the books in Yakima County regulating the minimum number of ambulances in the county. County officials are now looking into regulating ambulance services in the county.
