ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A scholarship will be awarded this week to a deserving person in memory of a paramedic taken too soon from this world.

Paramedic Anthony Jackson was shot and killed in October 2017, reportedly by his childhood friend. Jackson was just days away from entering the fire academy to become a firefighter/paramedic, his mother said.

“As a paramedic, Anthony saved many lives,” his mother Janice Jackson told Fox 2. “He severed as a paramedic for 10 years, he brought back two people who were clinically dead. But on October 17, 2017, his brother paramedics could not save him, he was beyond saving.”

The scholarship will be used to recruit future first responders.
