HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Cabell County EMS employees are looking to unionize, according to a report by WOWK-TV.
Employees told county officials today they are mentally and physically exhausted and there are many on-the-job safety issues. They want United Mine Workers of America to represent them.

“Fatigue is a big issue,” Critical Care Paramedic Michael Ryan, said. “The call volume, and then a lot of different out of town transports.”
A county commissioner said this was the first he had heard of any concerns.
