Combative Patient in Custody after Stealing W. Va. Ambulance

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. –An EMT and paramedic were sent to the hospital and an ambulance was badly damaged after an incident in the back of the rig, according to reports and officials.

The suspect’s name in Wednesday’s incident involving Anmoore EMS was not released. WBOY-TV reports the patient allegedly put the EMT in the back in a chokehold.

The paramedic driving the ambulance stopped and let the EMT out of the rear door.

Anmoore EMS reports both the EMT and paramedic were bruised and shaken up.

The station reports the patient then drove off with the ambulance but was later caught.
