Upstate N.Y. EMS Providers Talk Low Pay at Roundtable

HERKIMER, N.Y. – EMS providers meet with state lawmakers yesterday for a roundtable on issues plaguing the industry and solutions, according to a report on WKTV.

Oswego EMS Coordinator Renee Fox said not paying their staff is a livable salary is a problem.

“It’s tough,” she said. “People who are basic EMT’s would make more money going to Dunkin’ Donuts, or Stewart’s to serve hot dogs and coffee than they do staffing a rig and potentially saving someone’s life.”
