NEW YORK CITY – The New York Daily News is reporting the city’s EMS service and the NYPD are being targeted by an anonymous threat.
The newspaper reports police and EMS crews are now responding to calls together in Queens as a precaution.
The threat may be linked to a deadly shooting on Friday night in Far Rockaway, a source told the Daily News. This past weekend, objects were thrown at two different ambulances responding to calls in the area.
New York City officials could not say how long the escorts would last for.
The president of the city’s EMT and paramedic union said his members are continuing to work.
