Plane Crashes onto Maryland Highway

Four people hurt in Bowie plane crash

BOWIE, Md. (WJLA) -A small airplane struck a vehicle on Route 50 near Freeway Airport Thursday in Bowie, Maryland.

Prince George’s County Fire officials say four people have been injured.

Two eastbound left lanes have been closed on Route 50 and one westbound lane has also been closed.

According to the aircraft registration, the plane is a Mooney M20J and it’s registered to Derrick A. Early of Greenbelt, Maryland.

Maryland State Police believe the pilot misjudged the landing prior to the crash.
