Tim Hynes Foundation Names 2019 SMTA Scholarship Recipient

SNELLVILLE, Ga. — The Tim Hynes Foundation is proud to announce that Flight Paramedic Brent Tracy, BA, FP-C, a Flight Paramedic with Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca, Nevada is the 2019 recipient of the Foundation’s Scholarship award to the Safety Management Training Academy (SMTA). 

The scholarship is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to enhance, promote and develop a culture of safety within their work environment. In recommending Brent for the Tim Hynes SMTA Scholarship, his former employer, OptimuMedicine Director of Business Development Jim Thomas said that, “…he has been a constant advocate for safety while employed for us at OptimuMedicine.”

Mr. Tracy is passionate about operational safety and Safety Management Systems (SMS) and plans to use his SMTA knowledge to increase his organization’s risk mitigation profile and implement best safety practices.     

The Tim Hynes Foundation’s commitment to safety in the transport community is acknowledged through the financial support of campaigns, education, and through best practices that enhance safety every day.

The THF conducts fundraising events, such as annual golf outings and silent auctions to raise awareness and support for safety in the medical transport industry. Tim Hynes was an IAFCCP founding member who was passionate about his profession. He lost his life in a rescue mission in 1998.
