We’ve all been there. It’s 2:00am and your pager goes off. Your heart sinks as you hear an all too familiar address crackle across the speaker. As usual, we load up and prep ourselves mentally for the heavy lifting that is bound to follow.
Once on scene we use any combination of bed sheets, transfer tarps, and whatever else we think of that might help as we struggle to get the patient off the bathroom floor. When we finally get the patient back into their recliner we return to the station thankful that our back survived yet another torturous lift and hope we are just as lucky next time.
