Journal of EMS

TULSA, OK / August 16, 2016The Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS), owned by PennWell Corporation, announced today the expansion of the JEMS Editorial Board to include an additional 52 advisors from 30 countries. Dedicated to providing the emergency services sector with industry-leading coverage of progressive clinical and operational developments and state-of-the-art research initiatives, this important expansion provides unique insights into innovations, techniques and trends being implemented in other countries.

“In our focused efforts to constantly evolve, we are proud to announce our new international Editorial Board that will globalize the exchange of tactics, information and solutions from a much broader perspective. To be able to share methods of developing and implementing programs faster, cheaper and smarter is invaluable in educating EMS systems and equipping emergency responders with the tools needed to ultimately save more lives. This exciting initiative of expanding our content to include international case studies and best practices is truly groundbreaking and we look forward to offering our readers access to the very latest advancements happening around the world,” said Mr. A.J. Heightman, MPH, EMT-P, and editor-in-chief of JEMS.

Driven by the experts and specialists on the forefront of emergency response in their respective regions, JEMS will now feature articles in the print and digital editions that focus on the many effective systems, educational efforts and treatment protocols being implemented in other countries. From new ideas and system accomplishments to tips and techniques on replicating successful practices in other EMS systems, JEMS will be the first publication in the EMS industry to feature such large and diverse representation on its Editorial Board.

“Jim Page, founding publisher of JEMS, advised me to look over the horizon and avoid getting stuck in traditional ways of doing things to ensure the highest level of service in assisting our readers and EMS systems with improving safety, maximizing planning and operating budgets, and saving lives. Our international Editorial Board is a significant step in meeting that continuing challenge and paving the way for the future advancements vital to driving effective emergency response,” continued Heightman.
