Stars of Life Luncheon Hosted by American Ambulance Association at the National Press Club

The 103 Stars of Life, honored for their special achievements in EMS by the American Ambulance Association, were treated to an amazing luncheon at the National Press Club this afternoon.

The award recipients, their families, their service managers and multiple industry sponsors enjoyed a fabulous lunch sponsored by AAA and Physio-Control. Afterward, Marc Creswell from Acadian Ambulance (and a 2007 Star of Life Award recipient) addressed the group and inspired them with multiple leadership pearls from his career.

Creswell served on Acadian Ambulance Services’ famed AirMed helicopter and fixed-wing service. Over the course of his career, he served during Hurricane Katrina, massive oil rig explosions and a horrific active shooter event at a Louisiana Movie Theater. Creswell recounted lessons he has learned and his zest for EMS, and he told the award winners that they have to think outside the box and often go off the map a bit to get things done during major incidents. He received a standing ovation at the completion of his keynote address.

JEMS is the official Media Partner with the AAA and will be reporting from Tuesday night’s Star of Life Banquet.
