East Coast Helicopter Operations 2016 Critical Care Training Weekend Hosted by Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Partnership with Finmeccanica

The East Coast Helicopter Operations’ Critical Care Training event brought more than 200 active flight crew members from around the East Coast to Philadelphia for a medically oriented conference that specializes in critical care, the operations of helicopter units, and collaboration for best practices in the field.

Throughout the weekend of April 1-3, educational sessions were hosted at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and covered topics such as social media for air medical operations, EMS and suicide prevention, a crash course in K9 trauma unit, and panels of experts from Jefferson, Boston MedFlight, University of Maryland Shock Trauma, and Pottstown Medical Center. Saturday’s sessions were followed by an evening tour of Finmeccanica’s Philadelphia helicopter manufacturing and completions facility at the Northeast Philadelphia Airport. A range of AgustaWestland EMS helicopters were on display. Attendees included representatives from Maryland State Police, New Jersey State Police, PennSTAR, Temple University Hospital, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, Boston MedFlight, Penn State Hershey LifeLion, and other EMS and airborne law enforcement units.
