Metro and D.C. Fire Department Responders Triage 200 Patients Evacuated from Smoke-Filled Metro Station

Metro and D.C. Fire Department responders load a patient onto an ambulance bus after smoke filled a Washington, D.C., subway tunnel. After about 200 people were evacuated from the tunnel and triaged, 84 were taken to local hospitals, mostly to be treated for smoke inhalation. The source of the smoke was unknown at the time of the evacuation.
