FDNY EMS Promotes New Officers

NEW YORK – The FDNY recognized the difficult and life-saving work of EMS members on March 12, when 28 new officers were promoted.

“Your work is dangerous, but it’s also fulfilling and rewarding,” Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said during the ceremony at FDNY Headquarters.

During the ceremony four captains and 24 lieutenants were promoted. Together, they represent more than 350 years of experience.

“You are making an enormous leap forward in your careers,” Chief of Department James Leonard said.
