Brent Parquette, EMT-P, presented on improving OHCA survival rates, with an emphasis on innovative new technology and a look to the future of cardiac arrest care, at EMS Today 2015.
Parquette, NRP, is the training and quality assurance specialist for Lucas County EMS in Toledo, Ohio. During his EMS career spanning 36 years, he has held a passion for cardiovascular care and resuscitative science with current field study and research in the use of IPR (intrathoracic pressure regulation) technology for improving resuscitative outcomes. Brent presented on new innovative techniques and technology to help improve survival from OHCA. From identifying our standard approach to resuscitative care, we learn that an emphasis on “enhanced” CPR with intrathoracic pressure regulation, and a “team approach” with transformative technologies can push the needle on neurologic recovery.
