JEMS Nominated for Prestigious Neal Award

JEMS is proud to announce our nomination as a finalist for the 61st Jesse H. Neal Awards in the category of best single issue of a magazine. The May 2014 issue of JEMS was nominated alongside other magazines of varying topics after a competitive process of judging.

“The JEMS editorial team works extremely hard and long hours all year to bring innovative and quality material to the JEMS audience. We’re extremely proud to be the only EMS publication to be nominated,” Ryan Dohrn, JEMS publisher, said. “Winning this prestigious award would not only be a tribute to them but to all of the readers who support us each and every day. Keep your fingers crossed and root for us on March 27, 2015.”

The May 2014 issue of JEMS featured articles on stroke identification, orthopedic trauma assessment and management, lighting strike patient treatment, crime scene patient procedure and patient response and care in an active shooter situation.

The Jesse H. Neal award is regarded as the most prestigious honor in the field of specialized journalism. Past award recipients have been recognized for their coverage of the major issues of their time, bringing attention to conflicts, trends and innovations across their industry.
