Triage & Patient Information Slate
Triaging patients in the field can be a difficult task, especially when there’s blood, mud, rain or snow. The Stat Slate from Stat Medical Supplies can be used to enter important patient information during the triage and transport process. Information can be filled in for categories listed on the front and back of the card. A triage card can be attached to the Stat Slate and changed if the patient’s condition needs to be upgraded or downgraded. Stat Slate can be used once or sterilized in an autoclave for multiple uses. A pen is included and what’s written on the slate can’t be expunged by body fluids, rain or snow. You can, however, remove data using the alcohol pad that’s also included.

Kill Bedbugs & Disinfect Surfaces
Many of the products used in EMS are often laden with harsh solvents, dyes, perfumes and inert ingredients that are less than ideal for the close-quarter environments of our industry. Though disinfection is compulsory, insect control is often overlooked. STERI-FAB from Noble Pine Products Company is the only product registered with the U.S. EPA that’s a viricide, bactericide, sanitizer, insecticide, deodorant, germicide, disinfectant, mildewcide, fungicide, bacteriostatic and fungistatic. It’s labeled for application on hard surfaces, mattresses, upholstery, carpets, bedding and other surfaces. It dries in 15–20 minutes at room temperature, won’t stain, has no added perfumes and won’t harm fabrics or carpets.

Versatile AED

The Powerheart AED G3 Pro from Cardiac Science is an AED designed especially for the healthcare professional. This AED features a color display that shows the victim’s heart rate, elapsed time of the rescue and the number of shocks delivered. The display also gives you the ability to monitor the patient’s 3-lead ECG waveform. The Powerheart AED G3 Pro is a fully automated, semi-automatic AED that also gives the user the option of manual defibrillation for more control during resuscitation. STAR biphasic technology is a unique feature that calculates electrical impedance and automatically escalates the energy to deliver the appropriate energy needed for each individual patient. The G3 Pro’s Rescue Ready technology runs a daily check of the AED’s main components, a weekly charge of the high-voltage components and a monthly full charge so you can feel confident that the G3 Pro will be ready when you need it.

All-in-One Spineboard Straps
One of the first things you were probably ever tested on in EMT school was your ability to properly secure a patient to a backboard. Once you started working in the “real” world, you quickly learned how difficult it can be to accomplish this task in bad weather conditions or poor light, not to mention all the different types of clothing— or lack thereof—that people wear. Best Spineboard Straps from Rapid Deployment Products, is a one piece, all-in-one strap system. It’s constructed of nylon webbing, with hook-and-loop closures. This system makes it easy to properly secure patients to a backboard for transport. There are five adjustable torso and limb straps as well as two over-the-shoulder straps—all color coded—that help ensure the patient will not easily move when in transit.
