ATV Rider Tumbles Near Train Tracks

Issue 11 and Volume 39.

Firefighters and EMTs from Churchville (N.Y.) Fire Department and paramedics from Monroe Ambulance (Rochester, N.Y.) assess an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rider after he crashed near train tracks. The ATV struck a signpost and rolled more than 100 yards down the gravel side road, ripping the rider’s helmet from his head. Due to the location and darkness, first responders had a difficult time accessing the victim and had to use SUVs and pickup trucks. The patient was transported in critical condition to Strong Memorial Hospital.
