1 Dead, 6 Injured in Crash Involving Utah Ambulance

SOUTH OGDEN, Utah (AP) — One woman is dead and six people are injured after a crash involving a North Davis Fire District ambulance at a South Ogden intersection.

South Ogden police spokeswoman Marci Edwards says the ambulance was driving on Highway 89 with lights and siren just before 11 a.m. Friday when it hit a Buick that entered the busy Sunset Drive intersection on a green light.

Officials say the ambulance then hit two other cars stopped at the intersection, which is two blocks from the Ogden Regional Medical Center.

Police say an adult female passenger in the Buick was killed. A patient being transported in critical condition from an earlier car accident, and two emergency medical technicians inside the ambulance, were among the injured.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
