Dallas Man Falls into Bread Dough Mixer

DALLAS, Texas — A Dallas, Texas, bakery supply company employee was freed after he fell into a large industrial mixer filled with bread dough, firefighters said.

The unidentified man, 29, was trapped near the blade of the massive mixer on Saturday night at BCW Food Products in Dallas, and suffered serious injuries, KXAS-TV, Dallas, reported Monday.

Firefighters had to cut around the heavy-duty equipment and dough to reach the victim, and Dallas Fire Rescue called in its Urban Search and Rescue Team, a specialized unit trained in unusual and complex rescues, to assist, the television station reported.

The victim had been working near a machine that mixes flour to make bread, a company spokesman said.

WFAA-TV, Dallas, said it took two hours to disassemble the equipment to get the victim out, and a surgical team from nearby Parkland Memorial Hospital was called to the facility to assist. He was taken to the hospital after the incident.
