Medevac to Tweet from the Skies

There will be tweets from the sky this Friday as the North West Air Ambulance give a minute-by-minute blow on its work on Twitter.

The charity will use the social network site for it’s tweet day with paramedics, pilots and staff from the charity’s head office tweeting their every movement through the charity’s @NWAirAmbulance Twitter feed as they attend life-saving missions and manage the crucial fundraising which keeps the organisation operational.

Lynda Brislin, chief executive, said: “As a charity that relies so heavily on the generosity of the public, we wanted to give our supporters the chance to see what is achieved through their kind donations.

“The North West Air Ambulance flies seven days a week, 365 days a year throughout five counties in the north west, a region which covers vast terrain, mountain peaks and a complex motorway network. This wouldn’t be possible without the public’s support, and it will be great to give everyone an insight into how our life-saving charity operates.”

All updates posted during the charity’s tweet day, which will run from 7am to 6.30pm, will comply with patient confidentiality rulings.
