The condition of a Melbourne man who was incorrectly pronounced dead after a car crash at the weekend has improved.
The 30-year-old from Hawthorn was declared dead by paramedics while he was trapped upside down in his overturned Porsche on the Western Highway near Bacchus Marsh early Sunday morning. Someone later discovered the man had a faint pulse before he was taken away by the coroner’s van.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition. The Royal Melbourne Hospital says the man’s condition improved overnight and he is now listed as being in a serious but stable condition.
The cause of the mix-up is under investigation by Ambulance Victoria.
