SC EMS Memorial to be Dedicated

SANDY RUN, S.C. — In a collaborative effort of South Carolina Emergency Medical Services organizations, the South Carolina EMS Memorial will be dedicated on May 17th, 2011.

The purpose of the memorial is to honor the men and women who served as an EMS professional in South Carolina. This will serve as a dual-purpose memorial honoring those who died in the line of duty as well as those who passed away off the job.

The memorial is located at 1736 Old State Road in Sandy Run (Gaston) South Carolina.

The day of the dedication will begin with a parade of ambulances at 10:30 from DAK Americas, LLC with the procession to travel Old State Road to the memorial site. At 11:00, a ceremony consisting of speakers Jennifer Paddock, State EMS Director and House Minority Leader Harry Ott (D) as well as time of remembrance for EMS individuals who have passed in 2010 will take place. This will be followed by a luncheon for all attendees.
