Globalmedic Runs Annual Disaster Response Training

On June 11th 2011, members of GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team (RRT) will facilitate a training session for new recruits. Trainees will be given an overview of disaster relief practices, what they can expect in a disaster zone and hands-on training with disaster equipment. Recruits will spend the day rotating through interactive stations that will train volunteers on emergency water purification, medical infrastructure support and deployment procedures.

GlobalMedic is an entirely volunteer based organization. Volunteers take personal vacation time to prepare for deployment to some of the neediest regions of the world to save lives when disaster strikes.

GlobalMedic is the operational arm of the David McAntony Gibson Foundation (DMGF). DMGF is a registered Canadian charity that runs capacity building programs in post conflict nations and provides disaster relief services to large scale catastrophes around the world. The team is staffed by professional rescuers specifically paramedics, police officers, and firefighters who volunteer their time and skills.
