The Los Angeles Times reports that two Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were injured over the weekend after their ambulance was struck by a hit-and-run driver.
The two paramedics were transporting a patient on Saturday when their ambulance was struck on Wilmington Avenue, according to Los Angeles Police. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot.
One paramedic was knocked unconscious and the other suffered a shoulder injury. A patient in the ambulance was reportedly not injured, and was taken to the hospital by another ambulance.
Both paramedics were taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, treated and released, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman.
