SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco police say a driver lost control of her car and crashed into a a group of people waiting for the bus, injuring five.

The crash happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at a Muni bus stop in the city’s Visitacion Valley neighborhood.

Fire Department spokeswoman Lt. Mindy Talmadge says four of the five victims were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Talmadge says a 24-year-old woman driving a Ford SUV told authorities that she lost steering power as she came down a hill. The driver veered toward an apartment building where people were seeking shade from the sun while waiting for the bus.
