EMT Guilty Of Leaving Scene Of Fatal Auto Crash

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. — An emergency medical technician with New York City s fire department has pleaded guilty to the hit-and-run death of a 51-year-old man walking to work.

Scott Desimone, 35, of Hawthorne has pleaded guilty today to one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, a class D felony, two counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, class E felonies and one count of second degree insurance fraud, a misdemeanor.

Desimone was operating a rented 2008 Mazda Tribute on March 1, 2008, in the area of Saw Mill River Rd. and Hunter Lane when he struck the victim, Manuel Guaman Saca who was walking on the side of Saw Mill River Road/Route 9A in Greenburgh.
