Judge Tosses Palm Bay’s Try to Recover Ambulance Fees; City sought end to ambulance service charge

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Palm Bay officials are weighing whether to appeal a judge’s dismissal this week of a class-action lawsuit that tried to force the county to refund fees city residents paid for ambulance service.

The case stemmed from Palm Bay’s 2005 challenge to assessments that Brevard County charged homeowners to fund emergency medical services.
