EMT honored for her 20 years of service

Kelly Neese, an operations field supervisor with American Medical Response in Gulfport, recently reached a milestone rare among emergency medical technicians: 20 consecutive years as a nationally registered EMT-paramedic.

Neese has submitted to comprehensive recertification exams by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians every other year to maintain her status, said Rick Fayard, AMR spokesman, in a press release.

Of the 800,000 or so to have been certified since 1970 by the NREMT, few endure as long as Neese.

Thomas Blakeney, operations manager of AMR, said in the release, “Neese is a credit to the emergency medical service industry and makes a positive impact in ensuring high quality patient care in our communities.”
