Conn. emergency services learn from recent storms

RIDGEFIELD Ridgefield is gearing up for the possibility of future natural disasters such as the microburst series of thunderstorms that hit May 16.

“We ve sent out a letter to residents to have their names and numbers put on the reverse 911 (phone calling) system if they have medical problems that will require emergency response,” said Fire Marshal Dave Lathrop.

“The idea is to get medication and medical service to people who need insulin, oxygen or have other special needs,” said Ridgefield Selectman Di Masters.
