This webcast will focus on strategies that can be used by the EMS community to improve survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

The American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) are based on evidence evaluation from the 2010 International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR 2010), of which the American Heart Association was a founding member.

During this presentation, you’ll learn:

How to develop a localized action plan to improve outcomes

The recommendations in the AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC confirm the safety and effectiveness of many approaches, acknowledge that other approaches may not be optimal, and recommend new treatments that have undergone evidence evaluation. He is currently employed as a Senior Account Manager with the American Heart Association’s Emergency Cardiovascular Care Department and as a flight paramedic with HealthNet Aeromedical Services in Morgantown, W.Va. Rod’s passion for emergency medicine lies within curriculum development and systems of care improvement.
