The days of a fully stocked drug box are long gone for some agencies. There’s a national shortage of the most commonly used medications in EMS.

Speakers Jeff Beeson, DO, and James Augustine, MD, will outline the incident action plans they have initiated as a response to the shortage, and approaches to reduce risk to patients and providers. They will share information related to expanding supply by sharing, stretching supplies, using expired medicines, facilitating exchanges between hospital and EMS and tapping into disaster caches.

For EMS agency leaders and regional authorities, this discussion will include methods of cooperation with state boards of health, EMS, medicine and pharmacy.
