EMS service delivery and patient care, especially related to cardiac arrest, have evolved over the past 30 years using a concept known as the “Chain of Survival.” Each link in the chain represents a critical care component associated with a patient's survival. Today, we are seeing an evolution in the delivery of EMS service and patient care. Each EMS system now has a Data and Technology Chain of Survival.  In this session, learn how technology and data touches every aspect of an EMS system of care.

You’ll learn:

    •    New data sources and technology transforming the dispatch center and vehicle operations
    •    The role software can and will play in patient assessment and recommendations for clinical care (clinical decision support)
    •    Technological advances that are making it possible to measure and report outcomes
    •    The need for data standardization across equipment and software, such as ECG transfer and ePCR reporting, to facilitate information exchange along the healthcare continuum
    •    The steps that need to happen to achieve the full potential of EMS technology
