New York Sheriff’s Department Demonstrates Naloxone Use

The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office has become the first law enforcement agency in the state to have its deputies trained as basic life support EMTs to use naloxone, a medication that reverses the effects of overdosing on opioid drugs such as painkillers and heroin. Deputies gave a demonstration of how to use naloxone Monday at the Rensselaer County Jail.
