Tenn. State Board Says EMT-B Worked with Expired License for 22 Months

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WHBQ FOX 13) -- A Shelby County EMT-B was working with an expired license. The state board filed a disciplinary action against Joseph M. Brown, saying he "performed or attempted emergency care techniques or procedures without an active license." The board went on to say that he knew his license was inactive but knowingly continued to ride on fire trucks as part of the crew without informing his employer of his inactive status for 22 months.

The board fined him $2,200 and that Brown agreed to a reprimand of his license, which means the incident will be reported to a national database and will be a perminant part of his file. The county put Brown on 90 days probation.
