Rural Metro, San Jose Fires 24 Employees

Area’s largest ambulance company accelerates hiring after sudden firing

SAN JOSE, California (KTVU) - The South Bay's largest ambulance company is shuffling schedules and accelerating its hiring after firing 24 emergency responders. Rural Metro fired 13 paramedics and 11 Emergency Medical Technicians on Wednesday. The move came after state officials told Rural Metro that a local CPR instructor, Jill Jaehne, is being investigated for issuing required CPR certification cards without actually conducting the four hour training sessions.
