Sycamore considers cutting funding

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

Sycamore, Ohio -- Trustees announced a request for proposals to contract out for fire and EMS, stating the cause as a loss of state money to support the services. Sycamore township will lose an estimated $3.6 million in annual revenue. The board is exploring other revenue generating or cost-cutting strategies as well. The Sycamore fire department is currently operating at a $1.5 million deficit and has just reported being dangerously understaffed.
