Ohio EMS Providers Practice MCI Drill
Multiple agencies participate with more than 25 patients
CINCINNATI – Multiple agencies gathered to participate in a mass casualty incident response drill. The drill involved students on their way to a field drip when the bus crashed. EMS providers had to treat 25 simulated patients and manage four simulated fatalities. One student particularly enjoyed seeing the providers at work because it reassured him of how such an emergency would be handled.
The agencies participate in this type of full-scale exercise twice a year. Local departments train weekly.
