N.H. Ambulance Stolen While Idling, Taken for Joy Ride
The incident caused the fire chief to change the station's policy
MANCHESTER, N.H. (WMUR ABC 9) -- An ambulance was damaged when it was stolen and taken for a short joy ride Tuesday night, police said. The crew was inside a McDonald's getting something to drink and left the ambulance running. The person who stole the ambulance only managed to drive it a couple hundred feet before hitting a porch. The fire chief said it will take thousands of dollars to repair the damage done to the ambulance. As a result of the incident, the fire chief said he has put in place a new policy that requires drivers to stay with idling ambulances.
