Gas Pump Fire Burns Man in Tennessee

Car plowed into gas pump, causing explosion and fire that severely burned man

Police in Clarksville, Tenn., report an out-of-control car struck a gasoline pump, causing a fire that badly burned a man walking by.

The man barely avoided being struck by the car but could not escape the flames, according to The Leaf-Chronicle.

The man is reported to be in critical but stable condition at the Vanderbilt University burn center with third-degree burns over 40 percent of his body.
