Mattera, MS, RN, TNS, EMT-P, is responsible for EMS administrative and educational leadership for the Northwest Community EMS System in Arlington Heights, Ill. She is the senior editor for the state of Illinois trauma nurse specialist course, has been a TNS course coordinator since the early 1980s and is privileged to serve as the EMS education committee chair for the state of Illinois.
