At EMS Today 2011 in Baltimore in March, we had the pleasure of hosting live podcasts by ProMed Podcasting right from the exhibit hall floor with live interviews, feature stories and up-to-date information about the conference. Here’s a snapshot of the exciting conversations that took place on Day 1.

The following episodes were recorded live in the ProMed Podcasting studio sponsored by ZOLL.
EMS Today Kickoff Show
This episode is a crossover of MedicCast and EMS Garage, who together kick off a series of shows over the duration of EMS Today. They feature new applications from ZOLL that support paperless reporting. They also interview Kelly Grayson, host of Confessions of an EMS Newbie podcast, and Andrew Rosack, a paramedic working at the Health Resources and Services Administration, who was soliciting feedback about their role in various EMS sectors. They then talk with Richard Huff, journalist and chief of an EMS volunteer organization and talk about EMS being beyond just a transport service.
Training, Discipline, and Language
Rob Theriault and Greg Friese are joined in this episode by guests Chief Michael Touchstone, Paramedic Jeff Dean, and EMS Educator Angel Burba. The first part of the episode is about training and discipline and follows up on Chief Touchstone with about a presentation he gave earlier that day at EMS Today. In the second part of the episode we discuss with Jeff a product he co-created, EMSpanol, and have a broader conversation with Jeff and Angel about the paramedic scope of practice and how it may or may not be limited when paramedics are not able to adequately communicate with patients.
