JEMS In March of 2009 a New York City EMT took cellphone photos of a murdered Staten Island woman and posted it on Facebook.
Now, almost two years to the date, the family of Caroline Wimmer is suing Facebook, the former EMT, the FDNY Commissioner and the city of New York itself, in an effort to get those photos.
My Fox New York reports that the family of Wimmer are suing Facebook specifically to retrieve the photos and learn the identities of anyone who may have shared them or downloaded them. They are also seeking to have Facebook implement measures that will show better responsibility in the screening of what is being posted.
Facebook has reportedly said the lawsuit is without merit and expects to fight it.
