BLOOMFIELD, Conn. - Bloomfield officials say three people were seriously injured when their car crashed into a bus stop shelter and rolled over while speeding away from a police detective.
Police say two of the three people in the car were ejected during Wednesday afternoon's wreck on Granby Street. Authorities say a person in the bus shelter at the time wasn't injured.
Authorities haven't released the victims' names.
Police Capt. Jeffrey Blatter says the car was speeding away from a detective, who noticed that the car matched the description of a vehicle involved in a reported larceny and activated his cruiser's emergency lights to get by several other cars.
Authorities aren't calling it a police chase, but a regional accident reconstruction team is investigating.
